In August 2025, the Moscow Stock Exchange will launch trading in two new futures: on shares of an American ETF investing in US government bonds, and on Ethereum. This was announced by Maria Patrikeeva, Managing Director of the Moscow Exchange futures market, at the InveST Weekend forum of RBC Investments on July 12.
One of the new instruments is the iShares Ethereum Trust ETF futures from BlackRock, a fund investing in Ethereum. Its quotation will correspond to the price of one share of the ETF, and the contract size will be slightly less than that of IBIT, Patrikeeva noted.
Also in August, futures trading will start on an ETF based on the iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF, which invests in long-term US government bonds with an effective duration of 15.7 years. The quotation will be equal to the value of one share of the fund. This is the first futures on the Moscow Stock Exchange reflecting the dynamics of the US debt market.
Recall that in June 2025, the Moscow Stock Exchange has already launched futures on the iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF from BlackRock. According to the requirements of the Central Bank, only qualified investors have access to it.
